I was shooting a project wiith my strobes yesterday morning and when I was finishing up, turning everything off, I noticed this little patch of window light hitting a table in my studio. I instantly thought, 'That light would highlight the text on my vintage New England pie plate beautifully!' so I popped it on the table and fired off a couple of shots. I loved the look of the pie plate so much that I went through my collection and pulled out a few other items, mostly metal. There was just something about the way the light was hitting the gray wood background and the distressed tarnished silver that I really really liked. I've been so caught up in learning to shoot food with strobes that I forget how much I love photographing with window light, especially when it looks like this.
