Easily one of the prettiest weddings I've ever photographed, Twyla and Matt's backyard wedding was overflowing with beautiful handmade touches that not only made it memorable for guests, but top-page-of-Pinterest worthy too. I got a lot of really great shots and so, I found it really hard to narrow down my choices for this post. The following selection is comprised of my absolute favourites from the day.
Twyla's gorgeous pearl engagement ring.
Perfect weather and a gorgeous setting.
Wedding favours - bags of Nova Scotia apples with Twyla and Matt's favourite recipe for Apple Crisp attached.
Signing table with vintage chair.
Red carpet ready.
Love love LOVE the bird cage netting and vintage tulle fastener.
Simple homemade bouquet.
Homemade boutonnieres too.
Special guest Chowder.
Happy bride (a side note here - Twyla took her mum's old school wedding dress (with sleeves and a high necked collar) to a tailor and had it completely re-sewn/re-made into her own wedding dress).
Touch up! Gorgeous wedding make up by Selena Marchand - www.selenamarchand.com
Hearts on fire.
Off to The Brooklyn Warehouse for dinner and CAKE!
Jars of Nova Scotia honey on the table with tags that read 'Meant To Bee'.
Pearl and Rose Gold.
And they lived happily ever after.
You'd never know this was a freezing cold February wedding by looking at Michelle but it was.
February 18, 2012 at Oak Island Inn and Marina, NS.
We were heading down to the water to do some shots on the dock when a woman came out of the villa next door holding a shot glass. She handed Michelle an Apple Pie Shooter as her friends giggled in the doorway. 'You have to drink this - we're here on a bachelorette weekend!!' Michelle did the shot and they all cheered.
Back to the guests.
