Overnight Crockpot Apple Butter

Overnight Crockpot Apple Butter is a gorgeous fall treat made with apples, spices, and brown sugar. We love it spread on toast with sharp cheddar cheese.

  • 5 large apples peeled, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  • Place chopped apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, and water in crockpot. Stir to coat.
  • Set crockpot to low and cook apples overnight.
  • The next morning stir in pumpkin pie spice, sea salt, cinnamon and vanilla. Cook 2 hours more with the lid slightly ajar. Cool and serve.


You can take overnight crockpot apple butter a step further and can it to keep in your pantry, however, we usually eat ours within a month and make a fresh batch.
